Hello everyone. I have been a lurker here for quite some time now so I thought I would introduce myself.
I am 45 yrs. old, married with 2 children. Back when I was in my 20s I was quite healthy and exercised everyday, but I was puuting on alot of weight and couldn't figure out why.
After several tests and Drs. visits, and 70 lbs weight gain, I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor and Cushing's. Had surgery and the weight dropped off. Two yrs. later, same thing again, this time it was a adrenal tumor.
After another 70 lbs of weight gain, rib removed, tumor our, weight came off. Again, 2 yrs. later, same thing was happening, 60 - 70 lbs later, another pituiatary tumor. By this point I have had enough of this disease. I was diagnosed as being growth hormone deficient, have not had a period since after the surgery 13 yrs. ago, still overweight, have sleep apnea, but have not had a return of Cushing's.
It has been a rollercoaster ride for sure, still have high bp but I am not on any meds for the Cushing's even though I am missing an adrenal gland and 2/3 of my pituitary gland.
