Hello, I'm a 35 year old male that is currently attempting to get diagnosed by Dr. Theodore Friedman.
At the moment early indications lead to Cushing's, but we are waiting more test results. I'm anxious at this time, b/c I have been suffering for over 4 years now and I want my life back(don't we all, ha, ha)
I'm just looking for more information on very fit lifetime male atheletes with this condition. I don't have the "textbook" symptoms of fat in the mid section or buffalo hump, but I do have osteopenia(suffering fractures of small bones already), hair loss, no libido, insomnia, dry mouth, body pains, extreme fatigue, hypothyroid and hyperthyroid symptoms, heart palps, slow healing, BRAIN FOG, muscle weakness, etc... So far, my MRI does not show tumors, but my blood cortisol was 17(high) and we are awaiting several
more cortisol tests. I've been on low dose of thryoid medication for 8 months and it has given me about 40% of my life back, but I have a long way to go. Perhaps the most troubling for me is the bone loss...I broke my hand doing Yoga the other day...and have had a broken bone in my foot for almost a year from simply walking.(I was a surfer/snowboarder, contact martial artist, and never broke anything before). I guess part of me is hoping for cushings diagnosis, bc it would explain so much..but I'm also anxious about the treatment and the possibilty of being on meds for life.... Can't go there until diagnosis is given!
Thanks for any help...Hoping some males will give me feedback.
