My name is shannon Pace , I am a 43 yr. old male from pascagoula mississippi. I suffer from diabetes , severe edema (chronic) , severe weight gain (406 lbs) , high blood pressure , severe fatigue , muscle weakness and my wife said to be sure to include irritability! I can't understand it but little things sometimes bug the crap out of me!

After I was diagnosed with cushings (which took forever), the doctors told me I have two choices either surgery or radiation treatments. well I decided to take the surgery, and let me tell you that was the most miserable three days ever!! what was worse is when I was waiting to be discharged the doctor told me it did'nt work. He said they did'nt get any of the tumor and my options now are to either have the surgery again or radiation treatments.

Now I chose the surgery the first time because the thought of radiation treatments scared the hell out of me! But after that surgery I was seriously considering it. while I was trying to make up my mind they came to me and asked if I would try an experimental drug (corlux) , It is supposed to alieveate some of the symptoms. The drug was invented to treat psycotic depressives( NO , I know what your thinking!) but when they were giving it to the psycotic depressives it was blocking their cortisol levels ( which is what I need). So I went to my family doctor armed with all the information and asked him would it be a good idea and he said yes.

Thus began my life as a LAB RAT , I have been participating for a year and half now ( only three more visits) After numerous M.R.I.'s, bone scans , urine collections, and bloodwork ( MY GOD THE BLOODWORK!!!!) I really don't feel that it is helping but they tell me it is. After I finish being a guinea pig I'm still going to have to decide on surgery or radiation (which still scares me). THANKS, SHANNON PACE
