Hi There. I am 48 years old living in Cape Town, South Africa.
I was diagnosed 3 months ago with Cushing's caused by 4.5mm microadenoma on my pituitary. I had transsphenoidal surgery on 31 May 2010 but my cortisol levels have failed to drop so the Endo now thinks it may be Hypothalamic which caused Hyperplasia in the pituitary. They are not sure what to do next. Talking about giving me a drug called metyrapone to suppress cortisol but cannot be used indefinitely. I have gained 20kg in the last 2 years and have had pettichia on my legs as well as insomnia and extreme thirst.
I am looking forward to corresponding with others in my situation.
