" Mary, many, many thanks to you for what you do for us. Without this site and the efforts you put into it, no doubt, most of us would still be sick, or dead! You've saved so many lives by your efforts and caring! Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and get to do something special and fun! "

I am so happy to have found this site. I have always been healthy, active person. I am 31 years-old, 5 feet 7 inches, and normally 125-130 lbs. I now weigh over 150 pounds. Recently diagnosed with "probable" Cushing's Syndrome due to Cortisone Toxicity. Recieved 3 Spinal Epidurals (9/27, 10/6, 10/27) very close together in time.  Pain physician was previously informed I had high sensitivity to steroids. He did not inform me of the high cortisone dosage that each epidural injection contained. Developed "moon-face", "buffalo hump", severe reddening of face/chest, insomnia, major emotional up's and down's, constant hunger, gained 0ver 20 pounds in 3 weeks (still gaining), all weight gain has been in my face/trunk, weakness in legs, pain in shins, easy bruising. I had appointment with my general doctor who diagnosed me and referred me for lab tests for the up-coming week. I consequently do not know whether or not I have any other disease, so I'm pretty worried.

I was involved in a motor vehivle accident on april 5, 2006. I was formally diagnosed with Vascular Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (nerve entrapment) , buldging discs (cervical/ lumbar) and Degenerative Disc Disease shortly after. For the past three years, I have been under the care of three pain management physicians due to relocation.  The treatments I have recieved over the past 3 years have included pain medication,facet-joint injections, anti-depressants, physical therapy, accupuncture, trigger-pont injections, deep tissue massage, chiropractic therapy, psyciatric counseling, and most recently, a series of 3 epidural injections into my spine. Each  of these therapies have been steroid-free until Sept 27th, 2009. The Epidural Injections all contained a large dose of cortisone.
