Tanja, undiagnosed bio
smaller text tool iconmedium text tool iconlarger text tool icon

Hi, I'm 43 and a mother of two boys.  Ages 13 and 10.  I live in N. California with my boys, husband Golden Retriever and cat.  All very important to me.

I went to my PCP in March 2009 with a swollen neck, not sure what to make of it.  So the story begins......My Endo is suspect of Cushing's Syndrome at this point.  I have already scored high on the preliminary Cortisol and the ACTH tests.  I am now into a 2nd round of testing.  This week: M, W & F I have blood drawn and Sun, Tues and Thurs. I am doing the 24 hour urine test.  With Mon-Tues taking 0.5mg of Dexamethasone and on Wed-Thurs taking 2mg.  Today being Thursday, my legs are terribly restless and I still need to take one more dose of the 2mg Dex before bed. I have a feeling I'm not going to get much sleep tonight.  But that's okay, if that's the price I need to pay for diagnosis, I'll take it.  Maybe I'll just get up in the middle of the night and me and the dog will take a walk.  That would not be so bad.

My boss' father passed away 8/1/09 from complications due to Cushing's.  This is very close to our hearts at my work place right now.

That's my bio for now.  I'll update it when I learn what my diagnosis is.

Meanwhile, if you think you might want to chat with me, please introduce yourself.  I would love to get to know you.  ~ Tanja Maria (tmb)
