Mid 2007:
Weird symptoms start; thinning hair, ridges on nails, migraines, forgetfulness, sometimes sweaty/sometimes cold - checked thyroid, B-12, progesterone, estrogen, testosterone. Told probably menopause due to low sex hormones.

Mid-2008:
More cognitive difficulties, harder to maintain weight, much less energy than normal

Late-2008:
Loss of sex drive, profound fatigue at times, bowel issues (lack of control), face starts looking puffy

Early 2009:
Weight gain at mid-section, more stomach problems, want to exercise but feel too weak - insist that I be checked to see if I am really menopausal.  FSH comes back low (1.3). Ask for endo referral

July 2009:
After a horrible endocrinologist (they called to tell me my labs were normal, when in fact the reprt said the specimens were improperly handled!) and lack of primary care attention, switched back to my old primary care physician and have new endo.  He suspects Cushing's due to my rapid 45 lb weight gain, muscle weakness, and facial changes (moon face.)  PCP also says Cushing's a possibility, but definately endocrine, and perhaps, pituitary.

So, I sit and wait for a diagnosis while my body is used for a pin-cushion.  As a side note, I was accepted to medical school (on a full 4-year scholarship, no less!) but have had to postpone due to these physical problems.  Unless I can get a dx soon, and work to resolve these issues, I worry that I may not be able to go.  Unlike some medical school students, I am older (42) and don't have the luxury of waiting a couple of years!
