I have had a terrible go of things in terms of my health the past five years. I finally saw an endocrinologist for the first time on Feb 17, 2012. He confirmed I had Hashimoto's disease. He believes I have something else going on with my endocrine system. I had already suspected it could be Cushing's syndrome. I have all the tell tale symptoms...upper trunk weight gain with smaller arms, legs and bum; moon face; swollen neck (not my thyroid he said); buffalo hump; subclavicular fat deposits; weight gain of 60 pounds; fatigue; muscle weakness (feels like my legs will give out on me); depression/anxiety/moodiness; high blood pressure (medications not helping); aching body.

The endocrinologist sent me for the 1mg over night dexamethasone cortisol suppression test and told me today over the phone it was fine, that I didn't have Cushing's. I think there is more going on here. I always look up my test results online and my results were flagged as abnormal. There were my results:

AM Cortisol  <30 nmol/L (FLAGGED AS ABNORMAL)

Reference interval: 140 - 690 nmol/L

If dexamethsone has been given:<140 nmol/L

I am a bit confused and trying to do as much research as I can on my own. I don't see him again until May 17, 2012!  I am currently off work on medical EI as I cannot function everyday. I need to know what is going on with my body.

Thanks for taking the time to read about me.
