Dianna S, steroid-induced bio

I am a 65 year old retired school teacher who has been on steroids for 26 years for Polymyositis.   I have had cushing's for most of that time.

I now have steroid myapothy and they are trying to get me off the steroids.  My problem is as we try to go down my cortisol levels drop and I feel dead.  We then increase the steroids and start again.  Even when the cortisol levels are low I still look cushionoid.  I retired last year and now I have time to research this condition.  I am hoping this site will educate me.

" Mary, many, many thanks to you for what you do for us. Without this site and the efforts you put into it, no doubt, most of us would still be sick, or dead! You've saved so many lives by your efforts and caring! Thank you so much! I hope you have a wonderful birthday and get to do something special and fun! "
