My story is a little different then others, I am 46 yrs old and was diagnosed with Cusings in August 2010 purely by mistake.  I was looking online to find somethng to cure this horrible facial hair growth I had.  One of the sites lead me to Cushings and low and behold, I had most of the symptoms.

You see, I had been over weight since I was around 25, but at that time I as was going through a very difficult divorce.  I always attributed my severe depression and weight gain to the on going difficulties of my divorce.   And of course all the aches and pains, high blood pressure(bp), and hypothyroidism I thought was just  due to the weight, as did my doctors.

At the beginning of 2010 my family convinced me to have Gastric Bypass Surgery, so in May 2010 I had the surgery and by August I had lost 75lbs.  The thing was, I was still in pain & had high bp, I could barely walk up the stairs and my cravings never went away and I couldn't loose anymore weight.  Along with the facial hair, I also started to get body rashes that no one could explain.  I knew something was wrong at that time, so coming across the Cushings website was wonderful and horrible at the same time.  I emailed my doctor to take a test to confirm what I read and she ordered the urine test and it came up high.

I was sent to an Endochronologist and she ordered a blood test to confirm, then a CT scan to check the adrenals.  Good thing I had the CT scan because they found 2 Pulmonary Embolisms and was put on blood thinners.  I then had an MRI, which showed that my tumor was wrapped around my coriartic artery.  The surgen told me he could not remove the tumor due to the location and the blood thinners I was taking. He suggested Radiation.  By this time my symptoms had worsend, I had constant body tremors, rashes all over, the blood vessels in my eyes were constantly erupting and on and on.  I couldn't go on this way, waiting for radiation to work.

I looked for another Endochronologist which sent me to another surgen Dr. Steiner at Kaiser Fontana, my miricle worker.  He removed my tumor March 9, 2011 and my 3 month MRI came out clean.  Of course the 3 months after surgery were the worst of my life, but it is getting better day by day and I am hopeful.

Just afraid my mind will never go back to normal, I can deal with the aches and pains, but I'd like to go back to work.  There are so many other things going on as you know, but I'll leave those for further conversations.  It's nice to share my story with all of you.
