I am having a problem getting an official diagnosis but I am 99.9% sure I have Cushings.
I am a 41 year old female. I have suffered with thyroid Graves issues for the past 20 years and have had radioiodine 2 times. My thyroid is at normal levels with Sythroid. For the last two years plus I have had extreme facial hair growth. I have tried everything from laser, to electrolysis to waxing, and nothing works. I have had extreme weight gain in mid section only and I look like the photos of persons with Cushings. My face is red and round. I am bruising and fatigued and achy and can't move sometimes! Have anxiety and depression.
I had two 'borderline' 24 hour urinary cortisol tests with numbers in the low 100s. I had bad reaction to Dex Supression and did not finish test. My salivary test was normal. My endo keeps telling me its too rare and I dont have it. But I read your stories and I feel like I fit every characteristic.
The doc finally agreed to MRI of Pituatary now. Do I also need Adrenal also?
If anyone else has had issues getting a definitive diagnosis or has any suggestions or a good doc in the NYC area, I would love to hear from you.
