Cynthia, pituitary bio
smaller text tool iconmedium text tool iconlarger text tool icon

I recently had surgery to remove a pituitary tumor that was the cause of my Cushing's disease.  The surgery was very successful, but I am struggling with being very tired.  I am thankful that the procedure was successful, but feel different.  My neurosurgeon says this is normal and that my body was producing adnormal amounts of cortisol prior to the surgery and now I am "normal."

I am just trying to get a handle on my "new" normal self.  I ran across this group on a google search and hope to be able to share the experiences of others in my condition.

Thank you.

I am a long time pituitary patient and have had surgery, and radiation (twice), and currently going through chemo (10 year period). Other than the inconveience of having to go to the Dr. and endless treatments, it really has not been physically bad. Now mentally, it has been a struggle. Even though my family has been very supportive, they do not fully understand the day to day struggles I go through and I have had nobody to discuss my problems with. If you started to discuss your problems, everybody would freak out and want to know if I needed to go to the Doctor. No, I just need someone to talk to, thats all.
