Hi my name is Liz, I'm 22 and havee been in and out of the hospital and doctors offices for 4 and 1/2 years now.
The first problem I had was my gallbladder and we thought after I have surgery to remove that I will be just fine, we were wrong. I lost so much weight after that surgery and also after I had my tonsils out and I finally got back to my orignal weight which was 125-130 in January 2010.
In June 2010 I started putting on weight and was constaintly tired, doctors thought I had thyroid issues, well I've been tested for thyroids 4 times and I don't have a thyroid condition. We thought I was having an appendicitis, which I wasn't the doctors choked it up to be PCOS well I went to my OB in November and he said it wasn't PCOS and my testosterone levels were extremely low.
I took my sister who is a nurse to come up with the thought of Cushing's and I have been to an endocrinologist who has stated "clinically looking at me I have cushings" i.e. the moon face, buffalo hump, strech marks on my stomach, arms, thighs, breast. But when we do the testing I'm not in the range. I'm now having severe headaches and I have changed my diet and I exercise but still no change I'm extrememly tired. It doesn't matter if I get 8 hours sleep or 6 or 12 I never feel rested. My hair is starting to fall out now and I have had two doctors ask me if I had amenmia, which I have been tested for and don't have. Cushing's is the only thing that fits and I don't know who else to see. I'm at the end of my rope.
