iPhone Medical Apps

I just downloaded a free app from Medscape.  It looks very  nice and there are doctor and hospital finders based on location and, in the case of doctors, by specialty.  Unfortunately, there aren’t any reviews of doctors and I saw some on the endocrinology list that I would never go to but it’s a great start.

There are also drug interactions and more.

WebMD Mobile offers a symptoms checker, drugs and treatments, and first aid information.

    I also have several exercise and food apps. I'm not consistent in entering my food but I like the one that sparkpeople has (an account at http://www.sparkpeople.com/ is necessary to sync info)

    I also like Tap & Track. That looks very useful but, again, I have to be more diligent in entering info.

    Anyone else have any iPhone apps that they find useful for medical/health?

    Thanks, Robin – those both look great. I especially like the UMMS one since it had entries for Cushing's :) While I was at it, I also got one for fun called Diagnose the Disease from Epocrates – "Race against the clock to diagnose the disease and test your knowledge! Developed by Epocrates, the leader in mobile clinical software, this game challenges you to identify diseases as the images are revealed. Physicians, nurses, medical students or others interested in medicine will find this game interactive, educational and fun.

    I wonder how many doctors enter our symptoms into that and come up with a "diagnosis". Thanks again :)

    Not a medical app but this could be useful as lots of Cushies have to fly for medical appointments and surgeries. Sometimes, I just get panic attacks so this might be useful – haven't tried it yet.

    People scared of flying can now press a button on their iPhone to help them deal with their panic.

    Long-haul airline Virgin Atlantic Airways has launched an application, or app, for its Flying Without Fear course which boasts a success rate of over 98 percent. Apps are a source of information, games and other novelty ideas for users of Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

    The airline said in a statement that this app was designed to help people overcome fear, be it of the unfamiliar aircraft, the strange noises a plane makes, or of losing control.

    "Our first iPhone app will bring the benefits of our successful Flying Without Fear course to millions of people around the world who are now using mobile technology to make their lives better," Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic, said in a statement.

    "The app will put many travelers at ease and enable them to prepare for their first Virgin Atlantic flight."

    The airline developed the app with Mental Workout, a company developing software to help people resolve issues and increase mental performance. A spokesman from Mental Workout said an estimated one in every three adults were scared of flying.

    The Flying Without Fear app has an introduction by Branson, a video-based in-flight explanation of a flight, frequently asked questions, relaxation exercises and a fear attack button for emergencies with breathing exercises.

    I just found a new iPhone app today which looks pretty good. You can add family members and send the info to another phone so everyone has the info they need. It's only $.99 in the iTunes store:
